The meaning of life aka Why are we here?

I’ve been working on the age-old question for two days now, and I think I’ve pretty much figured out this meaning of life thing…aka WHY are we here? Quick examples: What are the meanings of lightning bugs, trees and salamanders. What is the meaning of planets Earth and Mars?

People erroneously flip flop the two words, “meaning” and “purpose”, miss-thinking the two are the same. They are not. This switch-a-roo has ignited campfire debates for eons. It’s not uncommon for discussions to continue long after the embers aren’t.

According to God, not son Jesus but the Big Guy himself spoke in Genesis 1-28 “Be fruitful and multiply.” …that is definitely a purpose, not a meaning.

Whether you harken to a god, to Darwin or to sports gurus matters not because you are now aware of the difference between meaning and purpose.

There is no “cosmic” meaning of life.
The purpose of life is to perpetuate the species.

NOTE: Adjacent and extremely pertinent to the original question, “we”
I propose, for your next discussion at a campfire…

“There is no meaning of anything.”
