Santa Claus Spotted in Wanamingo

Posted

When you spot Santa with kids in his lap, decorated Christmas trees, and cookies on plates, you know what time of the year is here. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Even though the weather is warmer, and the snow comes and goes, the end of December is creeping up on us.

As I wandered the streets of Wanamingo on Thursday, December 7th I could see the season of giving is upon us. The stores on Main Street were all dressed up in holiday fashion, inside and out. People brought canned goods to exchange for a punch card, and visited the businesses that were participating in the holiday activities to get punches on their cards. Once 10 punches were accumulated, the cards were turned int the bank, and 3 lucky winners were drawn to win Mingo Bucks to be spent at local retailers. Santa arrived on a John Deere tractor to visit with the children and ask them what they wanted for Christmas. Food was served in various locations, and cookies, too! It looked like everyone was in good spirits, and the season was kicked off for 2023!
