Lovey Nesseth

Posted

Lovey Nesseth was born on December 15, 1938, and passed away peacefully at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN surrounded by her family on Friday, November, 10, 2023, at the age of 84. Lovey was born in the Moland area of Kenyon, MN, to Harold and Cora (Shelstad) Bjugan.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Darrell Nesseth; her three sons, Leo Nesseth of Zumbrota, Micky (Betty) Nesseth of Wanamingo, and Barney (Laura) Nesseth of Zumbrota; her grandchildren, Jynnylee Nesseth, Jason Nesseth, and Alec Nesseth; and many great-grandchildren. Other family that called her grandma include Gwen Bilderback, Jesse Stock, Randi Priem, Cassie Robinson, Josh Wetzstein, Jessica Wetzstein and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Cora Bjugan; her sister, Marie Schaefer; her brother, Harland Bjugan; her granddaughter, Rachel Nesseth; and her grandson, Anthony Schweich.

In her spare time, she enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. She made many wedding cakes, birthday, anniversary cakes, and I would guess that pretty much everyone has eaten a piece of one of her cakes at some point in the last 50 years. She was a very kind person, she was always doing things for others, always putting them first and taking care of other people. She was a very selfless woman. She was also known as a fantastic cook, everyone always wanted to come eat at her house. If there were visitors, she would always be trying to feed them something she had made. Lovey was also a very hardworking woman, she milked cows for many years. After the cows were sold, she worked at Malt-O-Meal in Northfield, Maple Island in Wanamingo, and lastly, she was a cook at the Kenyon Sunset Home in Kenyon, MN. She was always the first one to help with anything.

A special thank you to Betty Nesseth and Sandy Doehling for all the time they spent with her these last few years during her health battles.

Visitation was from 4 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Mahn Family Funeral Homes, Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and for one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.
