To the Editor:
Do you remember several years ago how California became a “sanctuary state”? Federal agents could not arrest illegal alien murderers, etc., and deport them. Guess what? Minnesota is now a sanctuary state. Illegals are now entitled to free health care, welfare benefits, free education, get an auto license, and then become a voter, etc. Our conservative house and senate members were surprised the first week in January how the liberals were totally organized. The governor, senate, and house members had met the week before to create their battle plan. Because they controlled these three divisions they could pass all of the 3,000-plus bills without any conservative amendments allowed. An example of this is the abortion “day of birth” law. Conservatives submitted an amendment to have the baby given a painkiller first. The liberals would not consent to that! Do you have any idea what happened to the $19 billion surplus? That plus another $2 billion went into liberal projects. Another similar amount with go into new “giveaways” the next two years. No new tax relief in sight. Free school breakfast and lunch is covered by the state the next two years. After that, the local district has to cover it. The Zumbrota-Mazeppa School cafeteria serves three noon lunches (thirty minutes each). In that case, free breakfast means some students could start class at 8 am. while others could start at 9 a.m.! The liberals are all excited about next year’s session (power rules). In the 2024 election, only the house of representatives are up for election. If the conservatives cannot gain six extra members, “Minnesota Stupid” will continue to destroy our economy and lifestyle.
