Robert Duane Carlson, “Bobby”, 85, of Wanamingo, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, October 17, 2022 at The Terrace of Cannon Falls.

Bobby was born April 25, 1937 in Wanamingo to Clarence and Anna (Tongen) Carlson. He grew up on the Tongen family farm before moving to the Carlson home in 1943, where he stayed until he moved into The Terrace at Cannon Falls in June of 2021. Bobby had the biggest heart and was always helping others in need from helping elderly women get their groceries and mail, putting license plates on for people, to mowing over 50 yards a week with an old push mower. Bobby had an incredible knowledge of cars and had over 12, 000 baseballs caps he collected. He was a proud member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wanamingo, where he enjoyed singing in the church choir and handing out bulletins on Sunday morning. He also loved working at Pro Act-IRC, where he spent over 20 years. Bobby loved to ride his 3 wheeler around town and a phrase known by many was “Carlson good”.

Bobby is survived by his siblings, Diane (Bob) Lexvold, Carol Johanson, Dale (Carrie) Carlson; sister-in-law, Jackie Schacht; numerous nieces and nephews. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Anna; brothers, James and Wayne, and by his sister-in-law, Phyllis.

A funeral service was held 12:00 PM Friday, October 21, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 2nd Ave., Wanamingo, MN. Visitation was held from 10:00 AM until time of the service. The Rev.
